Overview of cellular respiration with oxygen~ 4.5 minutes (would recommend watching)
Stage 1: Glycolysis **~ 1.5 minutes
Stage 2:
With Oxygen : Formation of Acetyl- CoA and Krebs Cycle **~ 2 minutes
Electron Transport Chain **~ 2 minutes
With Out Oxygen: Fermentation 2 ~ little over 2 minutes
Fermentation 3 ~3.5 minutes
(You do not have to watch all 3 I would suggest watching at least one)
** The videos are put on to help you understand the process better. You do NOT need to know any additional terms. Just the big idea and the products and reactants.

Why Leaves Change Color:
Leaves color because of the change in temperature and the amount of light available to the trees. As fall comes we get less hours of sunlight throughout the day. When there is less sunlight, the energy needed to produce chlorophyll (the primary pigment or light collector) is greater then the energy chlorophyll is producing. Therefore chlorophyll becomes inefficient and the plant stops making chlorophyll. When we no longer have a large amount of chlorophyll in the leaves the other pigments will be displayed in the leaves.
To learn more you can watch the following videos:
Why do leaves change color? Gives some background + answer. WOULD RECOMMEND (3 minutes)
Different Pigments (3 and a half minutes)
What weather conditions produce, which leave colors (1.5 minutes)

Photosynthesis Videos
**Brief Overview of the steps ~ 2 minutes
Overview of chloroplasts~ 4.5 Minutes
**Light Phase - making ATP ~ 7 minutes however a good video to watch!
Light Phase - Making NADPH ~ little less than 4 minutes
**Dark Phase - Calvin Cycle ~ 2.5 minutes. You do not need to know all the terms described in the video. We only need to know that the Calvin Cycle uses Carbon Dioxide, ATP, and NADPH to reorder and combining (happens multiple times), and eventually we have glucose. I like this video because it shows an animation of the reordering and combining parts. Again focus on the animation not the words.

Unit 2 Review - Key
Self Assessment # 3 Key
Self Assessment #4 Key
Extra Questions:
1. What is the difference between compound and stereo microscopes?
Compound is used to look at small things like cells
Stereo is used to look at larger things like an acorn.
2. Finish the table and make a bar graph of the data.
Graph is orientated (positioned) differently then in class. Position the graph so that the bar graphs go up and down. I do not know how to have excel create a bar graph that goes up and down.

Active Transport
The following two clips are ones we watched in class:
Clip 1 ~1.8 minutes long - Clip from class on endocytosis and exocytosis. Clip 2 ~ 2 minutes long - Clip from class on how were arrived with eukaryotic cells (Endosymbiotic theory)
Below are the new clips:
Clip 3 ~ 1.5 minutes- Goes over the sodium/ potassium pump. When you see the 4 circles (three with have an P and one will have an A), this is the molecular version of ATP. The TP mean triphosphate or three phosphates.
Clip 4 ~ 30 seconds - definition and example of Active transport.
Clip 5 ~6.5 minutes - Nice review of passive and active transport, gives an example of active transport, and endocytosis and exocytosis.
Below is an extra info clip:
Clip 6 ~ 1.5 minutes - Shows and example of phagocytosis. Phagocytosis is the process by which certain living cells called phagocytes ingest or engulf other cells or particles. This is a type of endocytosis because you are taking something inside our cell.

Passive Transport: Osmosis
Clip 1 ~ 2 minutes describing the types of osmosis looking at the percentages of solute and water.
Clip 2 ~Little less than 3 minutes describing the types of osmosis and way things move in an active transport example
Clip 3 ~ 11 minutes describing the types of osmosis using an animated video game (if you have time is a cute video to watch)
Clip 4 ~ 5.5 minutes going through the Egg demo we did in class
